Fishback Calls for Mandatory School Uniforms with $250 Family Stipend
James Fishback, Republican candidate for Florida Governor, today announced a comprehensive school uniform policy for all Florida public schools. Under the proposal, all public school students would wear mandatory uniforms: white polo shirts and khakis with a belt for boys, and knee-length dresses or pant suits for girls. To ease the burden on families, the state would provide a $250 stipend per child to purchase uniforms. "Strong schools are only possible with order and discipline," said Fishback. "Enough with the tracksuits. Enough looking like the Migos in our public schools. You show up dressed for success." Fishback also proposed that twice monthly, students would wear ties to school, further instilling a sense of professionalism and respect. The policy aims to reduce economic disparities among students, minimize distractions, and create a focused learning environment. "When students dress for success, they act like it," Fishback added. "We're preparing the next generation for the real world, not the streets." The uniform stipend would be funded through existing education budget allocations, with no new taxes required.
