Fishback to Tampa: "Florida is Full. We Are Done."

James Fishback delivered a fiery address to the Tampa Bay Young Republicans, laying out his vision for Florida's future in what many are calling the speech that launched his campaign into serious contention.
In response to Senator Rick Scott's aerial banners over New York City urging people to "Move to Florida," Fishback declared: "Sen. Scott, we are full. We are done."
The crowd erupted in applause.
"I'm running to make Florida affordable again for the families who built it," Fishback continued. "To end property taxes on your home. To put Floridians first. This is our state, and we're taking it back."
On immigration, Fishback was unequivocal:
"The brave thing for our brothers and sisters in Haiti or Brazil or Mexico or India or China is to stay right where they are. Make their country great. The brave thing to do is not to come here on an H-1B and take a job from one of us."
Fishback shared his personal story of how his father's landscaping business collapsed after Obama's temporary protected status program allowed 100,000 Haitian migrants to compete for manual labor jobs.
"My family went on food stamps. We nearly went bankrupt," Fishback recalled. "I know what it's like to watch your family's livelihood disappear because of policies that put foreigners ahead of Americans."
"Every single foreign worker who has stolen a job from us will be relieved of their duties from state government by the time the sun sets on my first day in office."
The event marked Fishback's first major campaign appearance since announcing his candidacy.
